Police Criminal Record Certificate

Persons who are domiciled now or have once been domiciled in the Taiwan areas or have residence or visit records in the Taiwan areas may apply for police criminal record certificate. It shall explicitly indicate whether there is any record or criminal case during period in Taiwan.

II. Required Documentation

1. Walk-in Application
A. One completed Application Form.
B. Documents for inspection:

(1) R.O.C. citizens: Original and one copy of new I.D. card or household registration (issued within one month). Those who need a bilingual Chinese/English version should have a copy of the photo page of your passport in addition.

(2) Overseas Chinese: Original and one copy of the photo page of your passport.

(3) Citizens of China, Hong Kong and Macao: Original and one copy of the photo page of your Taiwan Region Residence Certificate.

(4) Foreign Nationals: Passport and A.R.C and photocopy of both the documents.
C. Processing fee: NT$250 per application.

2. Mail-In Application

A. One completed Application Form.

B. Documents for inspection:

(1). R.O.C. citizens: Original and one copy of new I.D. card or household registration (issued within one month). Those who need a bilingual Chinese/English version should have a copy of the photo page of your passport in addition.

(2). Overseas Chinese: A copy of the photo page of your passport.

(3) Citizens of China, Hong Kong and Macao: One copy of the photo page of your Taiwan Region Resident Certificate.

(4) Foreign Nationals: One copy of the photo page of your passport.

C. NT$250 money order (per application).
Account name: Taipei City Police Department.
Overseas applications: $11 US Dollars in Cash (Return postage included).

D. One self-addressed stamped envelope.

E. Recipient: Foreign Affairs Division, Taipei City Police Department (Police Criminal Record Certificate).

C. Fax the above documentation to +886+2+23817487 then call +886+2+23817494 or +886+2+23752105 for confirmation.

D. Go to Taipei City Police Department with your documentation and NT$ 250 (per application) after 2 working days to obtain your Police Criminal Record Certificate.

5. Notes for Application

(1) For applications through a representative, a letter of authorization must be submitted (original only).In this case personal ID card of representative is required.

(2) The English name appearing on the application form must be identical to that on the applicant’s passport.

(3) Processing of application usually takes two working days. Those requiring further check through judicial or military authorities may take longer.

(4) Relevant court decisions should be included with the application in order to expedite processing.
